Kari
In the heart of Time Square, I saw Kari sitting down, having a casual conversation with her friend when I decided to approach her and have an impromptu interview.
Kari is currently in a season of change as she moved to New York City from Calgary, Alberta, Canada a year ago to attend Sarah Lawrence College for her Masters Degree in Genetic Counseling. She says that the transition and move to the Big Apple have forced her to grow and change.
When asked what piece of advice would she give her younger self, Kari replied “Don’t be in so many relationships, and it’s okay to be alone.” I think many of us can benefit from Kari’s advice, as far too many of us sometimes unwisely seek to find our happiness and identities in being in a relationship. Embrace being single, experience life, grow and learn more about yourself, and love who you are. Thanks Kari for the reminder.
Before she dies she wants to jump out of a plane and go skydiving.
